Investigation into the alleged dumping of non-articulated welded link chains originating in or imported from China

McKinnon Chain, a Division of SCAW South Africa (Pty) Ltd submitted an application to ITAC, alleging that non-articulated welded link chains manufactured from round section iron or steel wire, bars or rods of a diameter of 4 mm or more, but not exceeding 20 mm (“welded link chains”), are being dumped into the Southern African Customs Union (“SACU”) market, causing material injury and a threat of material injury to the SACU industry.

Dumping investigation: Tyres from China

The International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (ITAC), gazetted a notice of the initiation of an investigation into the alleged dumping of new pneumatic tyres of rubber of a kind used in motor cars and on buses and lorries, on 31 January 2022 originating in or imported from the People’s Republic of China.

Provisional anti-dumping duties on windscreens for vehicles

The International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (“the Commission”) initiated an investigation into the alleged dumping of windscreens for vehicles, classifiable under tariff subheading 7007.21.20, originating in or imported from the People’s Republic of China (“China”), to be used in the Southern African Customs Union (“SACU”) market as replacement glass in the aftermarket (“ARG”) (“the subject product”), through Notice No. 1164 of 2022 in Government Gazette No. 47061 dated 22 July 2022.
On the basis of the information available, the Commission made a preliminary determination that the subject product originating in or imported from China is being dumped onto the SACU market causing material injury and a threat of material injury to the SACU industry.
