The International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (ITAC) wishes to inform all stakeholders in the metal recycling industry of the extension of the Price Preference System (PPS) for a further period of six months.
The PPS is designed to ensure that local foundries and mini-mills have access to affordable scrap metal before it is exported. This extension follows consultations with the Department of Trade, Industry, and Competition (dtic) to ensure continued stability in the local manufacturing supply chain.
