Re-appointment of ITAC Commissioners

President Cyril Ramaphosa has in terms of section 8(4)(b) of the International Trade Administration Act, 2002 (Act No. 71 of 2002), re-appointed the Commissioners listed below, as part-time Members of ITAC for a period of five (5) years, effective immediately until 30 November 2028.

The re-appointed Commissioners are:

1. Ms Phozisa Mbiko.
2. Mr Wandile Sihlobo.
3. Mr Etienne Vlok.

Please note that, Part-time Commissioner, Tony Ehrenreich continues to serve as a part-time Commissioner of the International Trade Administration Commission until his term ends in March 2024. Following a meeting of the Commission and in line with section 12(3) of the Act, Commissioner Etienne Vlok has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Commission, to preside at its meetings.

Trade, Industry and Competition Minister Ebrahim Patel, indicated that, the appointment of the new Commissioners is in recognition of their experience and expertise, in areas that will continue to contribute to strengthening the work of ITAC.

Minister Patel wished all the reappointed Commissioners well, in carrying out their duties and tasks as outlined in the Act.
